Hone-All Precision Ltd - lean, green and committed to SC21

Founded in 1979 by Colin Rodney, Managing Director, Hone-All Precision Ltd has successfully extended its remit to become a leading single source manufacturer of precision machined components.

The AS 9100-accredited subcontractor machines components up to 300 mm diameter by 3 m long and has the expertise to produce high length-to-diameter ratio holes, often in difficult to machine materials such as Inconel and Hastelloy, while guaranteeing excellent surface finish and straightness.
In terms of deep hole drilling this equates to a surface finish of 0.8 μm/32 CLA and a total run-out (TIR) of 0.025 mm/25.4 mm, while the typical surface finish for honing is 0.05 µm.

Components requiring deep hole drilling up to 20 mm diameter include con rods, drive shafts, steering columns, electronic housings, injection mould tools, prosthetics, rotors, actuators and landing gear. For holes greater than 20 mm diameter the alternative is deep hole boring, which was the process used by Hone-All Precision to machine the replica 16th century cannon featured in the Master and Commander film starring Russell Crowe.

The company recently relocated to new 20,000 sq. ft. premises in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, a move that has resulted in a smooth and logical workflow that minimises work in progress and eliminates potential production bottlenecks. This reflects Hone-All Precision’s commitment to maintaining its specialist skills in deep hole drilling, boring and honing, as well as its one-stop-shop machining capability, while also focusing on good housekeeping, safe working practices and a comprehensive environmental policy.

This is why we have decided to again exhibit at Aero Engineering as it is an ideal way to highlight our BS EN ISO 9001:2008/AS 9100:2003 approvals and our commitment to the SC21 aerospace supply chain initiative, for which we have started the implementation programme. We are currently exceeding the Bronze level requirements of SC21 with on-time delivery achieving better than 95 per cent and quality conformance in excess of 98 per cent.
